Lets start another 5 page thread on burbs that suck!!! (Naperville: homes, places to live)

What's up with these threads about which burb is the most dangerous, which has the worst reputation, etc.

Don't me me wrong I on occasion will chime in with a witty dig on Harvey, Maywood, Belwood, Robbins, etc.

But alot of times the top 5 things on the board of threads is all which burb sucks the most threads, they go on for like 8 pages and a few hundred threads all talking about how Robbins and Harvey suck.

Every now and again someone will chime in on how they are building a new gas station in Robbins like thats the economic powerhouse they need to bring the city back as if its the same as if the auto industry came back to Detroit and then a bunch more threads about how it sucks again.

We all know which burbs are not ideal places to live. These threads dont help anyone who's considering moving or asking for advice its just a bunch of us who know that Robbins sucks making the same points about it for 10 pages.

I think some people get their jollies by motivating other people to say bad things about certain people or places. I prefer to just ignore them.

Why? Are there that many people who want to move there? Or perhaps you are trying to get a project, such as landfill, that wouldn't be allowed in a decent place. Note that many such places are far enough off the beaten path you wouldn't go through them.

I'm always struck that the threads don't specify the type of suckage. Depending on what you're looking for, Winnetka sucks. Jolient sucks. Park Ridge sucks. Plainfield sucks. Etc.

"Sucks" is subjective. Every suburb out there is the worst. And best. Depending on who you are and what you like/need.

There's people who think every suburb sucks. For example a huge numbe of people love Naperville but there's just as many who complain it's cookie cutter homes, soccer moms, too stuck up, too competitive academically and athletics wise, etc.

I'm not talking about those types of threads. I'm talking about the "Which suburb is the most dangerous" , "Which suburb sucks more Harvey, Bellwood, Maywood", etc. These useless threads where we all just bash the crappiest of the crappy south burbs making the same repetitive points and the threads that go on for months.

those thread are pretty annoying especially when someone lists a town thats not even that bad. smh
