What does one do when one's previous employer actually LIES about the termination of employment? My husband was fired and his ex-boss told unemployment that he QUIT! Naturally unemployment sided with the employer. So, my husband appealed. He was set-up for a phone hearing in which previous employer was not "present" on phone. Today he received a notice that he was once again DENIED due to the fact that the referee did not have jurisdiction. None of this makes any sense to me. They told him to re-apply and he would not be getting any benefits for which he previously applied. Sounds to me like they denied him based on THEIR mistake! What is going on? Who can I report this to?

You can get free legal help:

"An eligible claimant or small employer is entitled to receive up to one hour of free consultation with an LSP attorney regarding his/her case (think of this as the first level of free legal service), and, if the attorney determines that the claimant or small employer has a valid claim or defense, the LSP attorney will also represent the claimant or small employer in an appeal hearing and/or at the Board of Review (think of this as the second level of free legal service)."

I heard of one who got fired and the employer claimed he wanted to get fired. He had to hire an attorney to get benefits.
