Hi all! I need your help. I will be moving soon and need to find an area close to Glen Ellyn (this is where my family is moving) but that is a bit more affordable. I am a professional single mom with 2 girls who are 12 (going into 7th) and 6 (going into 1st) so GREAT public schools is my first priority and of course, safe. I will be renting for probably the first year or two. Of course, I would LOVE to be in Wheaton or Glen Ellyn but I can't find anything less than $1500.00 rent for a two bedroom/one bathroom. Any suggestions? TIA!

Have you looked in Lisle or Warrenville?

Those were going to be my suggestions as well... Or perhaps the parts of Winfield that feed in to Wheaton schools.

Also check Downers Grove. It's not really more affordable, but there may be more rental options.

If you give up the 2nd bath this apartment is in your budget and looks quite nice:

The public schools are simply not that great in Woodridge. The OP wants "GREAT Public Schools", and that does not describe Woodridge in 2015.

The best schools are in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn and surrounding areas that feed into them. You should be able to find an apartment at your price point if you hunt. They really are the best places to live.

203 Woodridge? It's hard to talk about towns sometimes since so many are subdivided between districts (especially Woodridge, for a town of its size).
