A sad reality for anyone who lives in an inner-ring suburb. It's a problem for us in Berwyn too, and also is in Oak Park. Why anyone would want to sneak their kids into Morton West is completely beyond me but it happens, hurting chances for reform.

All you can do is push for the Districts to enforce residency (which is difficult but has to be done). Or, better yet, maybe the CPS can get its act together and start providing a half way decent education!

You must have really known what was coming with the classes following your daughter's then, possibly a psychic. The word "filled" is a major exaggeration. I would guess maybe a dozen students out of 700-800. There were very few out of district students there when your daughter would have started there, but that's a different story if we are talking about a few years later. I would know because I attended the school beginning with the '98-'99 school year.

I think this article says quite a bit (in a positive way) about Evergreen Park, and the surrounding communities.
