I make over the cut off but live pay check to pay check. I am sick and tired of this state sucking me dry and small businesses owners getting everything for free while suckers like me pay for everything.

Can I just bs on those school forms or will they actually look at family income?

Small business owners getting everything for free? You must live in an
alternate universe(!). My friends w/ small firms pay out of pocket for just
about everything.

Most districts have staff that will attempt to comply with requirements that the district verify the 'stated income' by requesting proof from a subset of families that apply for the Federal programs. The funds are not coming from the State of Illinois or the local district but the USDA and there is not much incentive for districts to pester families that throw away the request...

I know many small business owners who report they are making 28k a year when they are making 5 times that amount. This equals free healthcare and college for children. It happens all the time, i would be willing less than 2% of business owners are 100% honest about the income they make.

Please also enlighten us, oh great oracle, about this wonderful thing you call
'Free college for children'.

(I shudder to think how you feel about immigrants too...)

I own a small business and I do not get anything for free, I pay for all of my business expenses however, I also do not lie about my income to be on welfare.
So, if you want to lie it is your choice to do so just be sure to tell your children the truth, that you, their parent who is supposed to show a good example for them is a liar.

Ever hear of financial aid? I know people who's parents made twice as much as mine and they got to go to college for free. Hell they even got a stipend to buy books, while my honest ass was paying 20k a year.
