Ok guys, having a little trouble getting hold of short term sublet in Chicago from June-Aug. I've tried craigslist, domu and hotpads without much luck at all and its getting close to the time I'll be arriving so it's not quite code red emergency but not too far off.

I've stayed a summer here before and stayed near Kedzie on the Brown but essentially what I'm looking for this time is a 1br/2br in or around a Brown/Red cta near Wrigley/Lincoln Park.

So anybody got any pointers for me? Should I just hit the pavement and cross my fingers when I get out there?

I am in the same situation, interning this summer in the River North area and am struggling to find anything affordable and reasonably close to that area. Looking for June-August lease. Any help/advice would be great

What's your monthly budget for a sublet? I wouldn't come here without anything..that would end disastrously probably. I'd be checking numerous times/day for stuff honestly. I'd recommend looking at Chicago Reader too but not sure how good their sublet listings are.

I've never tried them, but when I was looking for housing I happened across Sublet.com | Apartments for rent, houses, sublets, furnished apartments and rooms for rent. Post apartment rentals free. .

Can't hurt to look.

FYI, Paulie Cee's post was from a year ago and he hasn't been back since.

This probably isn't as affordable as you'd like, but it's very close to River North. I interned at an agency in the Merchandise Mart last summer and I stayed here.

Summer Intern Housing : SAIC - School of the Art Institute of Chicago (http://www.saic.edu/life/sum_int_hous/index.html#overview - broken link)

Great location. Red line literally right outside the door and Brown, Green, Pink and Orange 1/2 a block away. Very safe with 24 hour security checking IDs. Plus, you'll be with a bunch of other interns.
