I'm just curious as to if any of you have ever lived on the 2900 block of Clark street? It's a medium sized brick complex that's fairly old and the owner is ICM Properties.

If not, have any of you lived on N. Clark street? Did you like your experience and were things convenient for you?

That would be a very convenient location. My only concern would be the noise from Clark (it's a pretty busy street). It's safe, close to bars, shopping, restaurants.

I lived just off Clark Street, a sorority sister of mine lived on the 2500 block of Clarki It was noisy, but I really liked the neighborhood until she was murdered by the crack addict who the hardware store had sent to install her locks.

The 2900 block is actually one of the quieter blocks on Clark while still being near all the action. Mostly retail shops there, a nail salon, a deli, a boutique or two, a bookstore, a Mexican restaurant, a jeweler, and one pub I can think of (Duke of Perth) that is not in any way a rowdy place -- more 30 and 40-somethings who prefer a quiet pint than "drink-til-you-puke" 20-somethings. It will still be noisy in terms of traffic and maybe some drunk idiots whooping as they stumble home from elsewhere... but by Lakeview Clark Street standards, that block is actually fairly calm.

Thanks for the input, guys. Anthera, that's absolutely terrible about your sorority sister. It's a shame that a few of these scum bag *******s can ruin it for everyone.

I'd be concerned about renting from ICM, my experiences with them were less than stellar.

Thanks for the sympathy. It was a really bizarre murder, apparently the hardware store would send the guy out to put in new locks, and he'd break in later. Lisa happened to be home the afternoon he broke into her place. He left a bloody handprint, and they cought him years later.

I moved down to the Gold Coast soon after and was much happier, it was quieter and a more mixed age group.

Case in point, they should start having higher standards and possibly a background check for places that hire people who work with locks.

That does suck. What a tragic thing to happen. I sort of remember this happening. It was a few years ago- maybe 7-10 years ago? When did this happen?
