I'm looking at a condo to rent at Clark at Elm. I was just wondering, since I don't have much of a clue when it comes to chicago, is this area of Near North seem like a good location? To and from work ( I'll be working at 101 E Erie.), the airport, shopping and restaurants? I want to make sure its a busy enough area to walk the streets. Not at all hours, but reasonable hours. Thanks everyone.

Default yes

Extremely safe on the streets. I used to live right near there, and I must say that there was crime in the back alleys that never seemed to make it on the news. Our parking garage was about 3 blocks from there and we had a guy assaulting women with a baseball bat get away with it like three times and then dissappear never to strike again.. If an area is poorly lit, it is nighttime, it is concealed from public view, and easily entered it is NOT safe in any urban area in any big 10 US City. Ie, alleys, some garages, public building stairways, etc.

I live right by there. It is incredibly nice and close to everything: bars, restaurants, the red line el stop, clark bus. I would recommend it for sure.
