I know the Spire and Watertower were cancelled due to funding (at least I think), but are there any other high rises still in session to be built?

Yep, it was just acquired by Related Midwest with construction to begin soon. It will be a 65 story, 500 unit luxury apartment building. You know, more proof of Chicago's decline.

What's that building under constructionon LaSalle I believe near Erie or one of the streets. It's just north of Fogo de Chao. It looks somewhat interesting.

It was supposed to be a Staybridge Suites. Someone else bought it now, but they haven't done anything with it. It is not abandoned, though, as there is a security guard there every day.

To the OP:

Roosevelt University is just finishing up a tower on Wabash between VanBuren and Congress.
There is a highrise under construction on Foster Avenue at the lake called The Admiral which will be a retirement community.
There is the Ritz-Carlton on Michigan Avenue at Erie.
There is Lincoln Park 2520, just north of Fullerton facing the park Lincoln Park.
SoNo East just south of North Ave near Sheffield
1233 N Wells will be a midrise (18 floors).
Coast, in the Lakeshore East development near Wacker east of Columbus, has broken ground and serious construction should begin soon.

Additionally, the developer of a 40-story apartment building on the corner of Clark and Hubbard has said they intend to begin construction this year, possibly as soon as September. And there are probably a couple dozen proposals still being actively considered for other towers in the central area and a few in outer areas.

Yeah that one I have known about for awhile. We did the marketing for them when they started construction for them.

All signs of Chicago's demise.

Financing was recently secured to restart construction on it. Construction should resume in early 2012. The Spire was a pretty half baked idea from the beginning so it's no surprise it failed - it very well may have failed even in a good economy. Still, I would love to have seen it get built.

As others have noted there are a number of projects under construction, and more in the pipeline.
