Many "celebrities" visit and/or live in Chicago for varying periods of time. Always have. For the most part, their presence is no big deal. Maybe that's why more don't come here. Not much fuss is made. I drove a taxi on the weekends for a couple of years. I had many well-known fares, including Hollywood types: John Cusak - who I'd take to Evanston and elsewhere; Gary Sinese, Bears and Bulls, Senators and Congressmen. Oprah and the other talk show hosts who did shows here brought a lot of celebrities into town. You'd almost never know they were here until after they left and the shows they taped were aired. I agree ... "Who cares?"

Relocating to New York? Right...

Rosie O'Donnell's show cancelled - chicagotribune.com

Hope people weren't buying into the silly idea that celebrities didn't want to come to Chicago. Obviously they saw the writing on the wall (who didn't?) and didn't want to come to her show. Moving it to NYC wouldn't have helped one bit.

Well, Oprah never had any problem getting them to come here, did she?

Seems Oprhah and Rosie are on total different playing field's

To be fair I am or was not a spectator of either show, however you would literally have to live under a rock not to know the pulling factor between Oprah and Rosie.

Both have achieved star status but Oprah is in the stratosphere compared to Rosie.
