- Don't put real heated facilities on el platforms and bus shelters, they're not necessary
- Don't use technology to let people know when buses are coming, that's not necessary

It all comes down to the people in charge either care about citizens or they don't. When you're standing on an el platform when it's -5 degrees, and you're with 20 others huddled around a poor heater in a glass cubby that is half-opened to the elements, then you know what the leaders think about you.
And I supposed all facilities in the South are air-conditioned ...

More people have died in Chicago from hot weather than from cold weather, and I imagine it's the same in the South. So tell me again about priorities? Cold weather is, at worst, a mild inconvenience most years. Spending dozens of millions of dollars to create something that hurts existing businesses and will be useful only a few months a year would just be insane.

1. There is a pedway system. Nobody uses it.
2. Riders have their own heated facilities: It's called "a coat and hat."
3. There is technology to let people know when buses are coming. It's called "Bus Tracker."

I can only speak for Florida where mass transit barely exists and cars are mandatory, but I can't think of any southern city where people rely on public transportation as you do in Chicago.

Yeah, yeah, I know Chi has bus tracker now. But I remember longing for it when other cities had it. We certainly weren't on the leading edge to deploy it.

One of the worst catch-phrases on the Internets...

If you can't express yourself through writing, you would be better off posting nothing. That statement added no value, educated no one. We have no idea what you are complaining about, only that you are complaining.

When it's cold, I take it upon myself to dress appropriately rather than rely on the city to provide me with heat. Also, I don't really evaluate leaders based on things as petty as heated bus shelters. For things like bus shelters and L platforms, heaters would be nice, but I'd rather the CTA spend money on adding service. Until we eliminate slow zones on the L, increase frequency of service for buses and trains, and introduce more 24-hour transit options, I don't want to see the CTA wasting money on "comforts."

To my knowledge, it's never been so cold in Chicago that it's impossible to dress warmly enough. So there's just no need to waste money on amenities that are really just for show and create no economic value.

So your complaint is not that we didn't roll it out but that we didn't roll it out sooner than other places? Now you're just finding s*#t to whine about.

As for not being on the leading edge... yes we were, at least in this country. Many transit systems still don't have it.

When did Chicago get the bus tracker? I moved to Chicago more than 4 years ago and I don't think it was even super new then.

Wow. Just wow. (See what I did there?)
