Daley will be mayor as long as he wants to be. He will in a landslide election. Chicagoans cry and moan like little girls but will continue to vote for him, using the same old tired excuse. Better the devil we know than the devil we don't. I don't even bother voting. Anyone that votes for him is a sucker and deserves him.

Here are important dates to clue in if Daley is going to run or not:

"No petition sheet shall be circulated more than 90 days preceding the last day provided by law for filing the petition. Therefore, the first day that petition sheets may be circulated for the February 22, 2011 election is Tuesday, August 24, 2010."

"Monday, November 15, 2010
First day to file candidate nomination papers for the offices of Mayor, Clerk, Treasurer and Alderman with the Board of Election Commissioners. [10 ILCS 5/10-6(4)]
Monday, November 22, 2010
Last day to file candidate nomination papers for the offices of Mayor, Clerk, Treasurer and Alderman with the Board of Election Commissioners. [10 ILCS 5/10-6(4)]"

And just so everyone knows-Tuesday, February 22, 2011 is Election Day for Mayor and a bunch of Alderman...
