18-year old **** in the back right after her sister watched Obama speech:

New Mother Killed Just Hours After Her Sister Attended Obama Speech - DNAinfo.com Chicago

The whole violence culture has to come to and end, somehow. I think a combination of concealed carry and National Gaurd deployment throughout the city, would work to stabilize these areas.

The culture of violence is not endemic to certain areas of the city, Link N. Parker. This culture is endemic to our world.

Violence is everywhere. People are violent by nature. You can have the Army and the Marines patrolling the streets and there still would acts of violence committed. You place the national guard in certain areas to police. Then what? Aside from hoping to cut down on violence, how do you improve those areas from a socioeconomic perspective?

In the areas where this violence manifests itself just so happens to feature the poorest schools, families living at or below the poverty line, high rates of illegitmacy and high rates of unemployment. How does conceal carry and the national guard fix that?

The entire city was in a daze after that kid died.

Hundreds of Simeon students signed petitions to get then Mayor Harold Washington to ban guns. And you know what happened thereafter? In the 80s and 90s, there were 800 and 900 people per year getting killed. These symbolic gestures are meaningless if real change doesn't to follow. The day President Obama came to speak at Hyde Park High School, one person was killed and three others were wounded. Two days after Ms. Pendleton died, there were reports of drive-by shootings in the city.

We still have a long way to go with no end in sight.
^^This. But I pray the end is in sight.

Fix families and the vast majority of these problems go away.

A big problem with our society is we're too politically correct to call loser deadbeat dads/absentee fathers what they really are.

There was a time in this country when having a child and not taking care of it was unimaginably shameful.

Now "it didn't work out."

I love the fact that a murder that didn't even happen in Chicago is being played up so much, just because it can be connected back to obama somehow.

Also, Link N, Parker, can you please give in depth explanation on how concealed carry will stop gang members from killing each other? It's one of the most clueless and ignorant claims I ever heard, but yet certain Chicagoans cling to it like a religion.

1. How do you go about fixing families?
2. I don't see anyone having any problems expressing that.
3. So, what do you propose be done about it?

No, violence is not everywhere...not this type of violence. Not at the levels that certain areas of Chicago seems to continually experience decade after decade. I can go to any town or city outside of Chicago and experience a relatively peaceful sense of stability and safety. This is a problem bred by broken families and a specific culture that worships death and violence.

Because Concealed Carry works in the other 49 states?? There is some form of concealed carry in all of the other 49 states, and it reduces crime dramatically.

Chicago continues the extremely slow slide to being the next Detroit. First crime will engulf the city as it did in Detroit.
Actually i dont need to explain everything because we all could learn from detroits mistakes and yet we havent.........
Hey Brainiac, this happened 30 miles outside the city limits.

Your tiresome act would be slightly more convincing if you actually had a single solitary clue about anything.
