No. Only crazy gun owners think that. And I'd venture to guess that a very small minority of people think Daley and Bloomberg are "Evil Incarnate". A VERY small minority. Bloomberg is actually quite popular around the country. And Daley is sort of viewed as a bizarre political machine dinosaur--unique to Chicago like deep dish pizza. No one really cares about him. Right wingers truly started ratcheting up the Chicago hate once Obama rose to prominence. It's been quite noticeable in the media and on forums like this one (the same way that liberals hated Texas because of Dubya).

Did the hand gun ban end gun crime?

Who's crazy?

And it's hard to see a way that Domestic violence will be reduced by plentiful handguns (and easier to see how it might increase).

Ten percent of the murders in Chicago are related to robberies. This is where I think we could see some change if a large number of ordinary citizens decided to defend themselves with handguns. But a 25% reduction in these types of murders is only a 2.5% reduction city-wide, so it will barely be a blip in the overall crime stats.
I've met plenty of dudes who have no criminal records but are hot heads and have seen them hit guys with beer bottles and pools sticks. If these guys had guns I wouldn't be surprised to see them use it. I also don't see how a gun in a home of a alcoholic who repeatedly beats his wife would be a good situation.

The hand gun ban was useless. I didn't support it.

What do you support? Tyranny or Freedom?

What kind of ridiculous question is that? All of these Tea Partiers going on about "Tyranny" sound like spoiled children to me. They have never experienced true tyranny. Unless you've been living under Taliban rule or in the Congo, shut up about the "tyranny" of the U.S. government. It's just a bunch of childish whining.

Do you like the direction in which we are headed? The last two administrations have taken us down a dark road. One party rule is the problem.

Oh spare me. There is no 'far left' that has any sort of say in US politics.

They won't. The far left has been kept on the fringe since the Carter administration. We're more likely to see the far right in the coming decades, as evidenced by the crazed rhetoric surrounding Obama. I think we're still experiencing a conservative backlash against the 1960s.
