I don't care what anyone has to say about Chicago weather right now. It is beautiful and I'm going to be studying for my Physics GRE outside!

It is truly gorgeous out. We needed a day like this after all the snow, and subzero crap.

I remember a winter a few years ago where December was TERRIBLE with lots of snow and cold temps, but then January and February were very mild. You just never know what you'll get in Chicago. It's not like Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, which are more reliably cold and snowy.

For those who are curious, here's a link showing the average highs and lows for Chicago in each month of the year. February has an average high of 38 degrees.

I'm cooped up inside, but I will be taking a walk during lunchbreak. This weather is magnificent after the crap last month.

This beautiful weather just means my office is uncomfortably hot.

That's alright though, when I get home, I'm going to ride the motherloving **** out of my bike.

I rode a good ten or 15 miles yesterday afternoon and good god...

After a winter of no bike, there isn't enough seat padding in the world to keep me from feeling like someone clubbed me in the tailbone with a cricket bat.

(That's right. I said "clubbed me in the tailbone". It's not a euphemism for anything.... but feel free to use it as such in the future.)

I'll keep that one in the repertoire.

But in all honesty, and in the most heterosexual way possible, I'm looking forward to feeling like I've been clubbed in the tailbone. I've gone into hibernation this winter, so it's about that time to get back in shape. I went skiing a few days last week and could barely get out of bed Sunday.

That was kind of a wake-up call that I need to, you know, move every now and then, before I wake up and look like Tom Arnold.

That's the downside to this nice weather for me: I've still got 2-3 months before I'm cleared for physical activity after my ACL reconstruction. I drove out to the burbs yesterday and had to see all the beautiful, thawed out golf courses and it drove me crazy. Not to mention all the people out jogging off their winter weight, which I have to wait another month to begin.

If I ever open a new club in Boystown, Tailbone will be the name. It will be right between the Manhole and Cocktail.

Of course, I'm not gay and hate most clubs... So feel free to steal that awesome idea if you want. It's pure money!

Also not gay. Also hate clubs. Also on board. Let's make it happen.
