I am not from the area, and I have to have some medicals for a visa into Australia. The location is:

Access - Evanston-Rogers Park Health Center
1555 W. Howard Street
Chicago, Illinois 60626-1707

Out of curiosity, I did a google street view of the address, and it seemed kind of a shady area.

Anyone know of this particular location's safety/crime rate? Will it be okay to be parked there for a couple of hours while I am inside the doctor's office?

Also, to note, I did read the pinned topic, but I figured if I posted the exact address, it might help, as I couldn't find any details about this specific address.

Thanks in advance.

Howard can be pretty sketchy, but during the daytime I've never had any issues walking around the area.

A bit off topic, what medical stuff do you need for a Australian Visa? I had a student visa a couple years back for australia and dont remember having to have any medical stuff done.

Yeah, I am getting a Spouse Visa for Permanent Residency, so it requires a medical check by an approved Panel Doctor.

This one in Chicago is the closest one to me, but I am thinking of driving further to one that doesn't seem like a bad area lol.

Plus, I called twice yesterday to make an appointment, and they had me on hold for over an hour so I ended up hanging up.

Again, the area is not bad during the day, the location is a relatively short walk to the red line. The street is also pretty busy during the day. You'll see some odd characters, but nobody will bother you with that many people around.

If they kept me on hold for an hour there would be hell to pay.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, that is definitely reassuring.

I was initially kind of spooked because of what looks like a security guard at the door of the health center:

1555 W. Howard Street Chicago Illinois 60626-1707 - Google Maps

I was thinking, wow the doctor's office needs a security officer, what kind of area is this! lol

I would avoid going there if possible. It is crackhead/gangbanger city over there.

Out of curiosity, where is the other place you can go to located and where will you be driving from?
