Jesse, what was your AVERAGE speed?
Hey, better $9K on a bike than on a stupid Hummer SUV! The CO2 produced by the bike is far less harmful(usually)
I did 74 miles this weekend. And I don't cross-dress, but am "afflicted" with crossing over between Mountain biking and Road biking. Now I don't brag about how new, or expensive my gear is. I'm old school so I brag about how "vintage" it is. My mountain bike has no shocks or disc brakes- it's 12 years old and the guys at the local bike shop have been showing me a lot of "love" lately for keeping my 20 year old road bike going strong.

Have you ever heard of the The Mighty Boosh?

Specifically the episode-The Legend of Old Gregg?

If not you need to check into it.

Some of us bike riding types are just weird.
Probably the en-dolphins swimming around our brains after a mellow 20 or 50 mile bike ride.

I have not. I see that it is British, which means I will either find it hilarious or the most painfully unfunny show I have ever watched. Let's hope its the former.

Avg speed was slower going North against an intermittant maybe 7 mph wind - from Ergoracer
North of Jackson, between photo stops - 14.7, 15.3, 15.7 mph
South of Jackson, going North against an intermittant maybe 7 mph wind - 14.4, 15.3, 15.2 mph
Going South with a Tailwind - 21.9, 19, 21 mph
Total Avg 16.7 mph, which is lame but I wasn't riding for speed... I took it a bit easy not "burning" my legs because I didn't train this year!

Total miles for the day 42.09
Max Distance I had ever road biked was 56 miles. I did absolutely NO Road Bike training this year! This year is dedicated to BMX Freestyle and Weightlifting workout to maintain and control my weight, but instead I have gained weight! Maybe I'm putting on muscle mass!

Paige65 - I hate that Cervelo dumped CSC for the Test Team! CSC was my favorite Pro Team until they stopped riding Cervelos! And I always wanted Cervelo to win the TDF!

Drover - my OP never mentioned anything about my crossdressing or entire bike collection. It diverged to crossdressing because people joked at me about that. I'm not beating on everyone about my uniqueness in looking good in a skirt suit!

I beat you 22 miles of hilly southern WI countryside at 19 avg speed with my old school stuff- after doing about 20 miles of mountain biking. The last, big hills kicked my fanny- I used low gears I never knew my bike had-almost bonked.
As I tell my aspiring speedsters, there's always somebody faster and somebody slower
Glad you had a good time, that's the true objective. I hope to do the drive sometime, but we're always camping the weekend it's held.

Well, well, well.......I had to bike past many dairy farms and keep the odor from taking me out AND the hills-nothing like the overpasses on LSD.
