Since the Bible states that "Jesus is Firstborn of EVERY CREATURE" (Col.1:15), here are some questions you should ask yourself:
  1. What does Firsborn mean?
  2. What responsibilities does the Firstborn have to every member of his extended family?
If you do a study through the Old Testament you will come to a greater understanding of why Christ did what He had to do to ransom and redeem all mankind. Otherwise you are just spinning your wheels and getting nowhere.

Look at Colossians 1:20 which is just 5 verses away from our verse 15. And take note of what He, as Firstborn did for every creature. By "ever creature" we are not talking about gnats or flys etc. but about rational beings such as humans.

What do you note He has done for all beings in the heavens and all being on the earth He is Firstborn of?

Now look at 1 Timothy 2:6 and note that He ransomed ALL. That is what a Firstborn is supposed to do and look at God's response to that ransoming in 1 Timothy 2:4.

Now look at Romans 5:18 and 19 and note what Christ's act of obedience has won for all mankind. He had to do this due to being Firstborn.

And finally look at Philippians 1:8-11 and what comes out of His going to the cross. Look at all the happy humans bowing their knee and acclaiming Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God.

Is this not wonderful news?

Firstborn, as in Jesus, means He was the first one of our creation to become Divine. That gift was taken away when A&E refused it and Jesus came to rebestow it so that all could become like God instead of remaining in His image. Jesus showed us that way and those who believe in His teachings, praying for Divine Love to the one Father of all, will get through the narrow gate.

Look again at the supplied verses. What all mankind get is not due to what they do or do not do but upon what Christ did.

Let me know how that works out for you.

We don't just sit back and watch. No one will pay our bills for us. We have to do something to make our salvation worthwhile. Jesus didn't come here to do the job for us when He didn't commit any sins. How can someone who is sinless take on anothers sin when the sinners are the ones who sinned. It makes no sense to have a sinless person pay for something a sinner did. How can one person pay the debt of another. Would you have your best friend pay your mortgage when you are the one living in the house and who's name is on the loan? Nope. Same with Jesus. He will not pay your bills for you. He said we, meaning each individual, will pay to the last farthing. He did not say I will pay to the last farthing for your sins. He also said we reap what we sow. He did not say I will reap what you sow.

Look again and interpret the verses correctly. While I don't read the bible, I do understand what they are saying.

Simple. The culture of the religion that Christianity is based on, sacrificed the firstborn of every creature including humans. That is why Christians like the sacrifice of God's firstborn also.

Exodus 13:2
Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

Numbers 18:15 (King James Version)
Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

Praise God!
