Lists of sins only point out weaknesses and really doesn't do much good.
Lists of sins, so you can point out to others THEIR weaknesses... that really doesn't do anyone any good.

I often share this quote here: "Where there is love there is no need for the law (or lists of sins), because there is no evil (non-love) to restrain."

Instead of focusing on our (and other's) faults, we should focus on our virtues and the good in our neighbor.

Why not hold up and show someone their better self that we know is inside of them. That is far more powerful (because it is loving) than holding up and showing someone their "list of sins".

Love conquers all. God will be "all in all". We all have non-love within us that causes destruction, and that non-love itself is ON that path to being destroyed. Why focus on and give power to it. When we can, instead, give the power to the LOVE we all, also have within, that is on that narrow path that leads to life? Our better selves, what God intended for us all to be, (full of love, God will be ALL in ALL) thanks to God, will win out in the end. Instead of putting stumbling blocks in it's path, we should be clearing the way for love to nourish that better self. We're all God's children.

If they are, then they are committing these sins on a daily basis, but the family goes to church every week and never miss church, carry a Bible to church, etc.

I am sure in my mind that crimes against people like stealing, killing, etc. are sins.

Pot, beer, and cursing seems to be ok for this family.
Beer different than liquor?
I'm confused by what I see with this family.

Does something have to be against the laws of a state, or country, to be a sin?

What is a complete list of sins in the eyes of God?
Sin is any transgression against the will and commands of the Father...

The Scripture are full of what pleases, and guidance of the Father against sin and who will or will not inherit His kingdom !!

Ppl who practice sin truly do not know the Father nor have they repented and are trusting Him for their lives.

1 John 2:4
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

1 John 3:6 (NASB)
No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.

It sounds like these individuals truly have not met Jesus, Jesus is in the life changing business.... this is why you said, "I'm confused by what I see with this family".... apparently you have heard His voice to see such opposition and have learned what Christ has done....

.... ppl who know and love Him want to do all that He desires and have repented of walking independently of God and come out from under the world and its ways in all areas of their life !!

1 John 3:1-8 (NASB)
1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.
6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;
8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus spoke very much on sin and those who repent of it, those who live it and the consequences of a life of sin or a life of repentance.. toward God, ppl whomever, whatever !!

Matthew 9:13
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Mark 2:17
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

John 8:34
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

Matt.5:29-30
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Galatians 5:19-21
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:40-42
40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
42 They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

John 15:22
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

John 9:31
We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.

John 16:7-9
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 When He comes, He will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
9 about sin, because people do not believe in Me;

There is a correction that needs too be heard.... and the truth is written in God's word.... it is....
NOT everyone are God's children, yes, God created everyone, yes, God loves them, yet, there are those who have chosen to not receive His love and want to be the sons and daughters of the father of lies, the devil, and follow after the father of this world, the father of the flesh, pride, the father of those who oppose everything of God's truth, His word and will for life.... !!

Here is Jesus own words to verify this truth:
John 8:40-45
40 But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.
41 You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.
43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.
44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me.

Anyone opposing this truth are calling Christ a liar and are doing exactly what Christ said, they are doing the deeds of their father, the devil, and do not understand God's truth because they are not of the Father of truth and can not hear His voice, they do not recognize nor hear the Father's words in His truth, His way (will), His life..... amen !!

John 8:47 (NASB)
He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

John 18:37
Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Matthew 10:27-29..... Jesus Teaches the Fear of God (Reverence)
27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Proverbs 10:16-17
16 The wages of the righteous is life,
but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.
17 Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray

Once again those who practice sin do not know the Father nor can they hear His voice of truth.... amen !!

Yet, we can rejoice.....
Luke 15:9-10
9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’
10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” ......

Luke 24:46-48
46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.

Amen....

It's very tempting to compare sinner to sinner and concluding " well I'm not as bad as ______"
but the fact is God requires absolute perfect.. not comparitive.

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Good is not good enough ... attempting to obey the commands is not good enough .... doing all you can do and God does the balance is not so.

10 Commandments - List of the 10 Commandments of the Bible

profanity, pot, and beer are not on the list.

Psalm 51

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are proved right when you speak
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts;
you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

No. David had not received the Light that being sin conscious instead of being Christ conscious, was the reason for his undoing.

Utter nonsense! Did you actually read the passage?

OK, how about Paul?

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief .“—I Tim.1:15.

Why should anyone have to do all the work of writing them down for you? Go online and search for the 10 commandments and there you have it.
