Any self-professed person of God with a net personal worth of more than $3 MILLION is a fraud.
Joel Osteen – Lakewood Church
Stopped taking his $200,000 salary several years ago. Makes tens of millions off of his numerous books. Joel & family live in a $10.5 million – get this – 17,000 square foot mansion. Treasures in heaven people.
Mr Osteen confessed he is worth 70 million this past summer. He tried to justify it.
I remember watching the fleece the flock show that old man Olsten had on. Joel just took over the freak show and continues in the false gospel of the pentecostals. It's just a distraction, ignore it.
You know what I don't know if I would call him a false preacher, as I do think a lot of what he says makes perfect scents. I am not really even a religious person, I did grow up in church 3 times a week, so I am not what you would call ignorant of Christianity and the Bible. Having said all of that, the main reason I am even commenting on this thread is that me and a good friend were discussing this guy at lunch just today and I was commenting on the fact that when I watch Joel Osteen on tv I feel like he is so smarmy with that perfect white toothed smile, you can practically hear the ding of cash registers going off in his head while listening to him talk. Is that presumptuous of me? yes I guess it is, but I feel like he has perfected his persona over the years and knows what will make him money and what will not. He does have a winning message, but a lot of it is perfectly common scents stuff.
One of my favorite preachers/Bible expositors is Dr. John MacArthur from Grace Community Church in California. I love listening to his sermons online and reading his books.
Yesterday I came across this short video on YouTube where he is exposing Joel Osteen as a false teacher.
I have never been a fan of Joel because I feel he waters down the Gospel and is more of a motivational speaker with Jesus added at the end of every speech. Now I believe he is really a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has such a likeable personality and smile, but if you really pay attention to him, he actually takes many scriptures out of context. I'm not saying he is knowingly leading people astray, but it's always bothered me that he has so many congregants. Are these people just having their ears tickled?
What are your thoughts?
So far as I can tell he offers encouragement in worldly hopes of health and prosperity which would be likened to a pagan cheerleader.
John nailed it.
1. If I hold grudges, is this a sign that I never received the Holy Spirit?
2. Can we enter the kingdom of heaven if we are not committed to doing the will of god?

I started 2 new threads today:
I believe that as we get closer to the time when our Lord will return to the earth, we will pay more attention to the words of Paul in I Cor.1:[10] Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
I believe that, with the directing of the Holy Spirit with a goal to DO THE WILL OF GOD, we can strive earnestly to lay down our denominational differences.
Jesus said in John 7:[17] IF ANY MAN WILL DO HIS WILL, HE SHALL KNOW OF THE DOCTRINE, WHETHER IT BE OF GOD, or whether I speak of myself.
I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT OUR GOD APPROVES OF OUR DIVISIONS!!
