The truth does not offend . . . but the ignorant savage and barbaric beliefs about God in the OT DO offend. The doctrines and dogma (Bad News) that are created from those savage beliefs DO offend. Pretending that we are special because we believe the "right" things ABOUT Jesus and God while all others are eternally damned DOES offend. God is no respecter of persons.

Christ is the Truth and He does NOT offend. His unambiguous agape love for us ALL does NOT offend. His Gospel (Good News) that God does not hold our sins against us does NOT offend. Christ who abides with us and His Holy Spirit (Comforter) within our consciousness to guide us to what God has "written in our hearts" does NOT offend. Following His instructions to His disciples to "love God and each other" daily and repent when we don't does NOT offend.

That was concise. I guess we're done here.

You are in disagreement with Jesus/truth/light.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed

Please explain the things in bold that disagree with Jesus.

Please explain what about the items in bold indicate doing evil deeds and hating the light.

I said your statements disagree with Jesus, because you said the Gospel/Jesus/light never offends, but Jesus specifically said people will hate the light (hating is same as being offended by it), and that his followers will be hated because of his name. All but one disciple were murdered because people were offended when they preached the Gospel.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

How could you look at Jesus Christ and say you offended me with your gospel of love ?.

really?

The verse that was quoted to start the conversation stumbling vs offense was written in Greek. Did you know the New Testament was recorded in Greek and translated from that language to english? Not the other way around?

The Greek word that was quoted in translation as OFFEND, is more literally interpreted as stumble.

It's not our fault the Greeks had a word that meant something that someone today tries to define by the ENglish interpretations word's definition.

You can talk about the translated word, or what the author wrote, and what that means in ENglish in a more literal sense. It's your call. But once you start just ignoring the original language's meaning to make scripture suit your beliefs, you enter a slipper slope.

Actually He said it himself. It's only been repeated several dozen times on this thread.

Of cause I am aware of this. Tell me how Jesus knowing what he had just said to his disciples that they had absolutely know idea what he just said to them be offended by truth?, they didn't understand the truth of what he said, so how possibly could they have been offended by the truth, they were hearing a man saying they needed to literally eat his flesh and drink his blood ?. Now if they fully understood what he meant and they were offended that would have been an entirely different matter, don't ya think ?.
