Is it true that we have to give up all of our wealth to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? I never believed that it's what we have that matters but what is in our hearts.

Yep.

You can't enter heaven until you croak, at which point you have lost everything.

The hard core right wing Christians will squirm and deny an obfuscate. There is a very real case that can be made that Jesus and his followers were anti wealth. End of story.

A better read on the topic is Greed

[indent]Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice, cupidity or covetousness, is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the church) is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of material possessions. Thomas Aquinas wrote, "Greed is a sin against God, just as all mortal sins, in as much as man condemns things eternal for the sake of temporal things."

In Dante's Purgatory, the penitents were bound and laid face down on the ground for having concentrated too much on earthly thoughts. Scavenging[citation needed] and hoarding of materials or objects, theft and robbery, especially by means of violence, trickery, or manipulation of authority are all actions that may be inspired by Greed. Such misdeeds can include simony, where one attempts to purchase or sell sacraments, including Holy Orders and, therefore, positions of authority in the Church hierarchy.

As defined outside of Christian writings, greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs, especially with respect to material wealth.[16][/IN
INDENT]

Best to give in faith to Jesus to charities of the works of Jesus for the great commission until it hurts proving the Jesus your trying , Like the widows mite offering is the best that Jesus seen in the Word ..... See if you are good at getting Money and giving it to God for His plan , then Jesus does have kingdom anointing of people who can support Jesus ministries , and you will always have money to give and money in your pocket through Jesus lead in the Spirit , as Jesus sees the heart

Paul, the apostle of the nations brought up Abraham in Romans 4. All Abraham did was believe God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. You see, God considered Abraham righteous only because he believed God that he would have a son.
Paul then said near the end of Romans 4: this was not written because of him only but because of those who are about to believing God that His son was entombed, that He died for our offenses/sins and God roused Him from the dead.

God didn't ask Abraham to quit his nasty habits, or quit his idols, or drinking, or that he had to join the Baptist church (as if there was one back then). God didn't ask him to give all his money to the poor. The Bible says he was heavily weighted with gold. God didn't ask Abraham to figure it all out to have a son. Nope, God just told him he would have a son. Abraham believed and bada boom bada bing: righteous.

Now all God wants us to do is to just believe Him. If you believe Him that Christ was entombed, that He died for your offenses and that God roused Him from the dead . . . you are righteous and justified and never can lose that salvation. Righteous is righteous is righteous. Nothing Abraham could do to unrighteousify himself. Get it?

3 John 2- "Beloved, I wish ABOVE ALL things that thou mayest prosper and be in (good, perfect) health, even as thy soul prosperth."
There are (at least) 3 blessings that are in God's will:
1. material blessings
2. bodily blessings
3. soul salvation
If you believe that John was filled with the Holy Spirit and could discern the voice of God then believe this scripture. If it wasn't God's will why would it be the statement of Jesus' most beloved Apostle? Truth is truth tho some denominations disagree. God is continually searching the earth for someone to bless. Those who put themselves in a position for it and have the faith for it will be blessed. Tithing is a SPIRITUAL LAW and the quickest way to obtain financial blessings in God's will. When do with a loving, pure, giving heart there's no way you can out give God!
Wealth is one of the greatest Christian blessings one can have. You can speak to a man and save his soul but he is more likely to listen to you if you feed, clothe and shelter him first! We are blessed to be a blessing to others. Money is one of the greatest ways to provide multitudes of blessings to the most desperate people on the planet.
The problems the rich young ruler had (Mt. 19:16-26) were that he:
1. loved the world
2. loved the "legal" righteousness he trusted completely in and
3. loved money more than God
As long as these things do not stand between man and God, no, there's no need to give up one's wealth to enter heaven.

So how much does God want you to prosper? ABOVE ALL THINGS!

Follow the son of man and you will have treasure in heaven. The kingdom of God is at hand.

It is written in the prophets;

To Israel the Lord said this; ' The Lord shall be your light, your God shall be your glory. All your people shall be righteous, they shall always possess the land.'

No one has gone up to heaven except the One who came down from heaven, the son of man.

Not everyone who says Lord Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven but only those who do the will of my heavenly Father.

All those who do good to the resurrection of life, those who do evil to the resurrection of condemnation.
