So we have another new "disorder"?
Is there a pill for it?

Whether or not Narcissism is a disorder is a matter of opinion.
If you judge someone thusly, it likely means that he/she hasn't given you the attention you thought you deserved.

There's a good reason for that.
A large number of nonbelievers will not allow themselves to accept that there is a spiritual realm. As stated in other posts, if they do then they might have to accept that God is real.
How can the theists/agnostics make God go away?
Evolution, big bang theory, no God, no Satan, no angels, no demons, no miracles, reject all personal testimonies of Christians etc...

Unclean spirits exist. To the extent that they can touch/influence humanity is not totally clear. God gives us the knowledge of them so we won't be "in the dark" so to speak. He gives Christians power and authority over them, as Jesus' power of attorney so to speak.

Different unclean spirits have different "jobs"... they are specialists involved in different areas of human lives. This is Godly knowledge given to man for our awareness, protection and knowledge.

Take it or leave it. Ignoring Satan/unclean spirits will not protect one from them. To ignore the spirit realm is folly and leads to destruction of the soul.

@ OhZone: NPD has been around since about '67-68. It is not a new diagnosis, but it is undergoing greater scrutiny since the DSM V came out insofar as there is a desire for more dimensional explanations as opposed to categorical. This would make sense since Dr. Ted Millon is one of the strongest petitioners for the same, having created a PD instrument for identifying pathology, and since PD's can be best described as dimensional.

I think of this fable as being illustrative of the problem: The Scorpion and the Frog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From a scientific or logical point of view though, I doubt sociopaths and narcissists are self-created. It seems to be in their nature. I'm open to being wrong about this and hope that free will is given to everyone. It's just not what I see though.
The whole human race is sick, some more than others. Sin is a sickness. Jesus came to heal the sick, not for those who do not need a doctor. It is frightening how many people there are in the world who walk around like beasts/predators. I can't say I know why some are more prone to be violent, but I do think part of the answer lies in the fact that hu/manity is "by nature" angry and "children of wrath". Why are humans angry? Because they have been subjected to mortality which is a certain type of prison in the sense that we are subjected to strive just to stay alive, subjected to many dangers, subjected to cruel and unloving people, subjected to loneliness, subjected to not knowing all the answers to life's mysteries. And yet we as humans are very sensitive beings and something deep within us resents being put in such a precarious place. It is especially hard if we do not understand the purpose for which God subjected us to such a fate. The anger, fear and futility is further compounded by religious people who paint God as a dark, angry deity who can't be trusted and may not love us. It's really not surprising that humanity is sick and somewhat insane. There is only one cure. The light of Truth about God's ultimate intention towards us which is all about pure Love.

The signs are present early in their lives, but diagnoses are "not allowed" until the person reaches the age of maturity.
At any rate, we're called as Christians to obey, to be decent, and to love.
This seems out of the realm of possibility for the predators who co-exist among us.
Given that these disorders are mostly hopeless, since nothing is wrong with the character disordered person (in their mind), what chance do they have of becoming good, God-fearing people? Really none at all, or with the odds so heavily stacked against them that the effort would be monumental and would have to start from other people who care enough to help.
Has anyone contemplated this, or is there something from scripture that might address this?
Psychological disorders (as we know them) are a mental construct originating within the last hundred years, but they appear very valid in describing people and offering little in the way of a hopeful prognosis.
Does God allow some of his creation to be "damned by their very nature"? (I guess that is the right way to ask the question.)
IMO you raise a pretty profound question, not only for Christians, but also within the context of our legal system and society at large. Namely how "accountable" can we hold people for their behavior, when science & neurobiology seem to be demonstrating that there are many folks lacking the essential brain capacity for empathy, or even for making appropriate moral judgements?

BTW, though not a Christian myself, it's great to see that these kinda questions and ideas still come up within the christian community. And even for those of us who have a 'wider' appreciation for the 'spiritual' realm, it is sometimes challenging to recognize the essential spirit or "soul" within some folks, who seem to lack even the most basic moral sense to begin with!

Very intuitive, insightful and sincere, Heartsong. Humanity is indeed in a difficult situation. Each individual enters this world and has to develop understanding literally from scratch. The environment they enter in has such a profound effect on how that development evolves. Still can't rep you.
