I don't think denominations are the Church. I believe Christians are the Church built upon the rock that Jesus is the Christ.

Of course, this is nonsense. You could be wrong. It could well be that there is a deity who couldn't care less about those who do not believe in any deity but who is violently upset at those who believe in another deity - in which case it is you, not anyone who doesn't believe in God, who is taking the risk.

Then there's the fact that normal people can't simply turn belief on and off.

Frankly, the myriad problems with this claim are so basic and obvious that it's a wonder anyone ever bothers to try and foist it on anyone else.

No I mean what I said. If one reads the post on this forum they know you have been shown the scriptures over and over and you just deny what they say. It's your game as is this childish atempt to bait me into your game. You have played it too many times for an adult with his eyes open to fall for it. Sorry, it's not going to work on me. Better luck with someone else.

This is GREAT! Salvation by works alone! Forget faith and magic and how you spend your Sunday mornings, just be a good person and you are in! Thanks for posting.

Wouldn't that be great?

Unfortunately, there are a lot more verses that I did not post (yet) that must also be considered. But that passage did answer one very specific concern about whether people suffer for eternity based upon what they do in this life.

Thanks!

You haven't got a a scripture to justify the comment you made. If you had you would post it. Whenever any of you bibleans post anything remotely close to our salvation being salvation from eternal hell, i will challenge them to provide the scriptures, it is nothing to do with baiting or being childish( your poor excuse to deflect the fact, for not being able back up what you believe with scripture). The only scripture that is normally offered up, is "saved from his wrath".

It is amazing how you hell fire believers hold onto the mistranslation of this scripture, even though many more qualified than myself have shown how it is mistranslated.

Thank God that i know the unconditional forgiveness of God, because i could never live with myself having believed someone could suffer what you boys(and girls) believe is punishment forever and ever at the hands of God, knowing such a thought never entered the mind of most of mankind.

Pcamps, why is it you are the only one using the term "eternal hell" and those you accuse of claiming it never do?

I challenge you to show me where I have ever posted such a phrase as you claim! Can you?

What translation of the Bible do you prefer and why?
