Is there proof that the Bible is divinely inspired? (agnostic, ritual, priests)

WARDEN, how about letting me know if you've seen my question and just don't want to answer it for some reason, about why your brand of cherry picking is okay and others aren't?
Pleroo, if you have read my posts thoroughly then you should recognize I look for truths that run THROUGH the Bible, repeated over and over again. Examples are Jesus is a propitiation for our sins. God does get angry. God will ultimately pass judgment on us all. These are inclusive themes repeated over and over through the texts. Details may vary, but the truth does not.
As an example of where I depart, simply look at what Jesus said about loving our enemies, then compare to Paul's writing where he states we should pray for our enemies so that God will heap burning coals on their heads. The threads of truth don't jive there (unless you a fundamentalist who will make up a story about how they really mean the same thing). I look at the life Jesus led as well as what He said, to see if the truth runs through the writing.
You and others, however, ignore all other aspects of God's revealed personality through the scripture. Cutting huge swaths from it in order to boil your religion down to "God loves." Now while I believe He ultimately loves, He is more complex than the single dimension into which you wish to place Him. There are many things about the revelation of God in the scripture that leave me uncomfortable--and I believe that's where we all should be.
Once you settle into a position of "this is the way it is and I'm not going to look at anything else,"----well go look at the posts of my nemesis on this thread.
Did you guys ever consider it aint the bible but man that got it wrong. It was never assembled to be the "sole word of god". It was really and attempt, in part, to centralize the religion. To which the bible works just fine. Only when man says "it is literal ..." that the errors show up.
Rather than argue conflicts in a few phrases in the Bible, we should consider major additions to the original text many centuries after the bible was written. One such passage is John 7:53-8:11. The story of the woman taken in adultery.
“[This] is not found in any place in any of the earliest surviving Greek Gospel manuscripts; neither in the two 3rd century papyrus witnesses to John - P66 and P75; nor in the 4th century Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus, although all four of these manuscripts may acknowledge the existence of the passage via diacritical marks at the spot. The first surviving Greek manuscript to contain the pericope is the Latin/Greek diglot Codex Bezae of the late 4th or early 5th century.”

QUESTION: Are you saying then that it's only a story?

Paul was referring to Proverbs 25:21-22
Notes:
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22
For you will heap burning coals on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.
Notes:
Paul says that if we give food and drink to our enemies, we shall be heaping “coals of fire on their heads.” To us this doesn’t sound like forgiveness, but like taking vengeance.In the Bible lands almost everything is carried on the head – water jars, baskets of fruit, vegetables, fish or any other article. Those carrying the burden rarely touch it with the hands, and they walk through crowded streets and lanes with perfect ease. In many homes the only fire they have is kept in a brazier, which they use for simple cooking as well as for warmth. They plan to always keep it burning. If it should go out, some member of the family will take the brazier to a neighbor’s house to borrow fire.Then she will lift the brazier to her head and start for home. If her neighbor is a generous woman, she will heap the brazier full of coals. To feed an enemy and give him drink was like heaping the empty brazier with live coals – which meant food, warmth and almost life itself to the person or home needing it, and was the symbol of finest generosity. – B.M. Paul Romans 12:21- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
God bless.
Shana, if Paul was referring to Proverbs, then like in many other places where he did so he would have commented that the scripture says (although he sometimes wrote things were in scripture where such scripture cannot be found). What you have is an apologetic of Paul's writing that purports to make it more amenable to the teachings of Jesus.
There are so many more discrepancies between the two that you will need to resort to apologetics ad nauseum.

The only proof that the bible is true come from one Chapter of Acts 2 ..Which is the promise of the Father God who gave His Spirit to all who would repent of Sin and Believe and receive through the Cross judgment of Lord Jesus Christ His promise to receive His Holy Spirit in which in Acts 2 some 1995 years ago and through out the ages since to today people are still receiving Jesus Holy Spirit , just like the scriptures and knowing God like these people after the book of Acts 2 ...... So all the people who receive Jesus Spirit have a direct witness of the promise and the cross of Christ , as the Scriptures are authored by Lord Jesus
