If I turn the cheek. You can hit that one too. But jesus did not say I can't hit you back if you hit that cheek. You get one chance to just walk away after you hit the first cheek.
I was asking what would be done in the MOMENT. If you had a child, and someone, in front of you, was threatening the life of your child, would you stand idly by?
Me? I'd pray. Probably out loud. It's always my instinctual reaction in a moment of crisis or danger.

This whole thread is a kind of hypothetical "lady or the tiger" choice. There are no winners and everybody is a loser regardless of which door is selected. We are talking about two evil things and trying to moralize that one is better than the other.
Neither are acceptable, and either choice is taking a slice out of one's own soul.

I think God sent Jesus to show us how to live. Depending on the level of our faith, we chose to follow in His footsteps are not.
Why? Are you wanting to start still another war and find some religious justification for it? Have you ever stared at a body after a 7.62 millimeter round went through the face?
God help us from more religious zealots wanting to start more wars and claiming Jesus is on their side!!

Nice little strawman argument there. I didn't say anything about starting a war. Nor did I say anything about claiming Jesus is on the side of anyone who starts a war.

Personal self defense is vastly different than dropping bombs, etc that will kill innocent women and children. That is murder.
How does God feel about murder?
Was Hitler a murder for killing Jews, bombing cities in England, etc? yes and so were the allies who fire bombed Cologne and Dresden knowing they would kill innocents. Then we have the 2 atomic bombs dropped on cities.Two sides of the same coin. Satan loves it and causes it and ..... do Christians support Satan's efforts?
