Yeah society is living in a bubble of incredible ignorance,, passivity, complacany, disinterest and in many ways are boringly ,historically, typically consumed in self edification, the ol' materialism hit and falling from God the later endangering all Americans existence or at least life as we are accustom.
That's the mindset that is fostered by believing in an angry, vengeful God. All those people who don't believe the same things as you [general you, now and hereafter] do about God or God's supposed laws are a danger to you and your way of life because you'll get caught in God's cross-hairs. That's why you're bound and determined to try to make people conform to your beliefs: self-preservation from the wrath of a punishing God.
Mike, all of these authors are just speculating on the end times. Do not fear - if you are saved and have faith in God, you are already on the winning side. Jesus reminds us that, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Why worry about signs of the end times? We should continue to pray and be joyful that the Kingdom of Heaven is near and that we are a part of it as God's children.

I still must warn of the complacency as not just whimsical and dislinked, but with the missing element of prophecy or uncovering of mysteries millions find astonishing while a huge segment of Christians and secular still remain ignorant ( blinders, disinterested, clueless even passive) about what is going on until they cry mama after their world falls apart.
