Fundamentalist Christians are, as a group, the most dour, mean-spirited, joyless excuses for humans I have ever seen.

Want another Orwell quote?

"As long as supernatural beliefs persist, men can be exploited by cunning priests and oligarchs, and the technical progress which is the prerequisite of a just society cannot be achieved."

George Orwell
Might not be Orwell, but the speaker is much more reliable...

You share it as if it is. Wake up to righteousness instead of being obsessed with what you think is sin. Righteousness by the way is not stopping doing something you think is wrong(being a squeaky clean goody two shoes, i don't do anything wrong), it is actually a doing thing.

Good that you quoted Orwell, one of my favorite writers. How about we look at some more of his quotes that goes right to the heart of your failure to treat people as your neighbors.

Happiness can exist only in acceptance.
(except if you are talking about homosexuals?)

Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.
(the rest of us are exercising it to point out the sinfulness of bible worship)

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
(the motto of bible believers)

The essence of being human is that one does not seek perfection.
(unless, of course, you focus on OTHER people's sins )

And finally, one that sums up fundamentalists' dismay at the Supreme Court decision
All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome.
Things are different now, and they will continue to change unceasingly.

Too soon to Rep you. But I agree. I do find them hard to live with, for sure and avoid them as much as possible which is why I do not post here everyday.
