Yes they do, and G-d rebukes them because they are cruel to their young, careless and not selfless as a mother should be, and they abandon the care of their young to one hen, thus relieving themselves of responsibility. They are a symbol of cruelty and foolishness. And they lay their head in holes in the sand in fear, hiding, though they have the power in their legs to kill man or lion, which is where the common expression about them comes from. They are cowardly as well. They point to things that are unclean in man, as all the unclean things do. It's called gleaning wisdom from the first heaven.

Whenever I read something absurd posted as fact I like to donate books to the library at my local elementary school. It's more productive than rolling my eyes or snorting in derision. I especially like to be able to donate books that will educate young minds so kids can grow up with factual truths in their brains, not superstitious beliefs and stories presented as fact. This month's book will be about ostriches. It will be suitable for the nature section, not the fairy tale section.
Dew is so much more Christ-like than you could ever pretend to be, Rbbi. It is God who accepts or rejects sin, NOT YOU, Rbbi. God is NOT counting our sins against us. Why on earth do you think YOU have the right to do so???

Personally, and I've told her this, I think she's knows more about Jesus than any fundamentalist, Bible-believing, finger-wagging believer who thinks people like her are headed hell because, even though they do all the things Jesus told us to do, they don't accept him as their savior.
I'm grateful to have had her as a friend and witnessed the good she's done for over 45 years. God put her in my life and I've been blessed by that. Her heart is so much more merciful and kind than the people who preach the Bible and make a big deal about their beliefs....but don't have a clue about love. Or being Christ-like.

All the uses of "born" use the word "gennaō " which means begotten or CONCEIVED (as in sperm meeting egg) NOT BIRTH.

Why you continue to think it means a birth while you are still in your physical body eludes me. You are NOT "like the wind" while in a physical body, but all who are born again as Spirit ARE.
