Good video. "DarkMatter" who makes these videos, tells it like it really is. The final statement is haunting:
Why, if something is the truth, do the people promulgating this truth need so many dirty tricks to get people to believe it?"
Tricks like: "There's abundant secular historical evidence to prove Jesus rose from the dead". And "Jesus' resurrection is the most well-attested event in the ancient period, even more well-attested than Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon." That last one always leaves me agape.
Josh MacDowell, Lane Craig, Matt Slick and James White would do well to ponder this relatively simple question.
WE have the written testimony of 4 men who considered bearing false witness a sin against God. What evidence do you have to accuse them of lying? Let me answer---NONE
Biased opinions are as worthless as the holes in doughnuts
And you would be better to ponder what Josh MacDowell says. He is a much better scholar than the one who does "darkmatter." He also offers some evidence for what he says.
Very sad, they are missing out on some very useful information.
For something to be true, evidence must support. Why don't you watch it again and report all the evidence they presented. One serious problem it has is assuming that all Christians were brought up in a Christian home. Why did they no mention that? If they did their story would not end with "and they all lived happily ever after."
Their faith is built upon the shakiest of foundations: the pages of an old book.
If our foundation is shaky, prove it. O I keep forgetting that secular fundies don't have even an old book for their faith. They accept what ever the secular evangelist say.
I watched it and kept look for the evidence he had to support what he said,. Without evidence it is only his biased OPINION.
For all the fundies out there, it isn't worth watching. It is just the usual secular fundie biased blather presented without any evidence.
You ignored the churches everywhere, that parents indoctrinate, that we have Christian holidays, that we have God on our money, that many tv stations have/do run church services, that most businesses are closed on Sunday, etc....
Other than these, what more evidence do you need that there is indoctrination?
Right, good film
If the "intelligent" man DID start to doubt the "ridiculous claim" he's been fed all his life....he'd probably be considered ( by his family and [well indoctrinated] friends) as going off the deep end and put in a mental institution.
Wait aren't many accepting his claim .........................
Only another foolish way of attempting to justify the ridicule of God and rejection of His timeless, unchanging ways and truths.
"The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:14-16)
AND: "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles." (Romans 1:18-23)
That video has 2 serious problems. First it starts out with his preconceived bias by claiming the claim was ridiculous.
Second it offered on evidence that it was.
Typical secular fundy attempt to discredit the Bible and Christianity.
I was under the impression that it was a generic example. That is why they did NOT specify what the ridiculous claim WAS. It was intended to apply to ANY ridiculous claims that are indoctrinated and reinforced by society.
