A leopard is a wild African cat as is the lion. Both animals are predators that eat meat to survive.
A lamb is a domesticated animal cultivated for its meat and hair. A kid is a young goat and a calf is a young cow. Both animals eat vegetable matter to survive.
A fatling is any young animal that is fattened for slaughter. The most noted form of fatling is the French pate delicacy foie gras - the liver of a fattened duck.
Given the usual meaning of these words we can understand the verse as suggesting a time or place when predatory animals will not eat domesticated animals. Scripture further suggests a small child, unskilled in methods of self-defense, will lead them.
Interpretation of the verse is that of a period of universal peace. The wolf is not identified with a human personality except in far fetched allusions made by sermonizers. The Bible is self-interpreting. Using external references confuses the context and purpose of scripture. Unless otherwise indicated, passages of the Bible say what they mean and mean what they say.
The question of who the wolf might represent is irrelevant. There is no suggestion that the wolf might be anything but what it is in nature - a predatory carnivore.
Hope this helps.

The question of what the wolf represents is relevant to everything, everything you are. Jesus is always explaining what we are because the bible is the handbook of a human and what a human is. The Temple design and all the comings and goings of the temple are about you, you are that temple, and it was always the plan from the beginning to create a temple from human anatomy and every piece of furniture and every board, every metal and every piece of furniture is only there to show you what you are where there are. 24 elders as priests to show ribs, and in the midst off these ribs are the voice of 4 animals running through the four pipes of your heat the ribs protect......You are two kings as the ribs are divided in two sections with 3 types of ribs as there is 3 orders of priests, and that number of 3 was had to evolve into 3 as the priests had come down to 3.
Isaiah is showing us what a human will be one day where a child shall play over the hole of a viper.
