For the sake of deception, all lies and false doctrine are presented with some element of truth. The enemy of our soul mixes in just enough truth to make the lie easier to swallow -- and grows his lie from that base. Therefore, the value or merit should never be measured by how much truth 'it contains.'
God did not give mankind His inspired Word and then say, "figure out which part is true" or "take whatever you like." The Bible is either God's inspired truth standard ...or mankind has no verifiable way to differentiate truth from error.
The Koran contradicts and differs from the Bible in many ways, most notably, Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord of mankind. Call it whatever you like, but, that makes the Koran a lie. For modern, politically correct Christians to attempt to paint the Koran as "somewhat true" or "containing some truth" is like 'putting lipstick on a pig."
There is no truth in Islam at all. When examined, you'll see that it's the exact opposite of God and His Word. It's the demonic counterfeit of the gospel. Satan has the counterfeit of everything God has done.
I am not a Muslim and I do not monitor or critique other religions.
As a follower of Christ, this seems like an odd pastime, to say the least.
That's a glib form of political correctness. You're basically equating God's words and instructions as a "pastime."
Satan is the great deceiver who acts as an angel of light. He's tried to devise a spiritual counterfeit for all of God’s real workings. We're called to expose them to warn others.
To say nothing, especially in the name of "political correctness" is to do nothing. It's sitting idle in the path of sin. Don't you care about those who are deceived? Are you content to let them run into hell? That's the "strange pastime" for those who profess Christ.
Matthew 7:13-14 says, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Right after this verse the Lord warns us of the false prophets which are ravening wolves who can be recognized by their fruits. Satan seeks to lead men down any path except the one that leads to life in Christ.
Since Islam never believed that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is the Messiah, that only though Him can anyone come to the Father, Islam was never in the truth to begin with.
Islam believes that Jesus is the Messiah
(Remember) when the angels said:
"O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word ["Be!" - and he was! i.e. 'ÃŽsa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him,
his name will be the Messiah 'ÃŽsa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter,
and will be one of those who are near to Allah."
Muhammad himself initially thought he was possessed by a demon. His wife convinced him otherwise, but it had all the classic signs in that cave. Islam is Christianity inverted. By that I mean while Christianity has a message of peace and love, Islam began with war and violence and remains so. Whereas Christianity says Heaven is where we will be happy because of God's presence, Islam envisions it is a place of carnal pleasures with virgins. Muhammad said if he was a false prophet he would die by his aorta being ripped out. Coincidentally or not, as he died from the long term results of being poisoned, he complained that he felt as though his aorta was being ripped out.
I'm not worried about it. We don't have to go around trying to dispute other belief systems; we only need to focus on what we believe is true. Nothing is served by the other approach. And it ends up looking petty, as if we have nothing solid to hold to or celebrate. You see that in politics all the time, but then again, the church is getting more political, so it's no surprise. You can take the glass "half empty" or "half full" approach (negative or positive). Jesus focused solely on God's ways and what he offered, and didn't dwell on other belief systems.
Besides, Islam does have some healthy aspects, as in the daily attention and devotion to their beliefs. Overall, they spend more time daily thinking spiritually and praying, than we do. For us, it's mostly Sunday that we do anything publicly. If we did more like them, it'd be a revolution in Christianity. If we took the blinders off and put the rocks down for a moment, we might even learn a thing or two from them that would be useful and healthy.
Not true! We are not to focus on just ourselves. Jesus commissioned each of us to preach the gospel, which means we will preach against Islam, Judaism, etc. To preach the gospel is to preach the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are from same god
Judaism is before Christianity
Islam is after Christianity
and it is the final religion.
and their main message is to worship the god and obey him.
