but I don't believe that a God/Goddess is (or means) love.
Love is Love...it's having compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, patience etc
Have faith that to seek to reflect [love] to others is a reward in and of itself.

Does that mean that even if a just and kind person gives of themselves daily to help the less fortunate, and loves unconditionally, that that person would not be "pleasing to God" if they don't believe he exists?

What jimmiej seems to have a hard time realizing is that the faith is about the love that God IS. "Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God."
