Many don't understand that Adam had a condemnation decreed upon him, which also pertains to the "body" of Adam. So that which is born under his seed is under that condemnation. Many understand this doctrine as "original sin".

Jesus could not be redeemer and also be born under the same condemnation. Therefore He had to be born of different seed of which He was through the virgin conception of the Holy Spirit via Mary. However, of the flesh was He still of the seed of David and thus Adam. Therefore, He still had to overcome even His own flesh of which He prevailed against thereby shutting down sin in the flesh of Adam's seed but this was only possible because His Spirit was not of the same fate.

Therefore, He has shown that by His Spirit can our flesh be put down also.

Many that deny original sin don't understand why a virgin birth or how Jesus saves us though the putting down of our flesh by His Spirit working through us towards others.

Yes - he had to be conceived outside of the realm of Adam.

Did you know that your bible says he was made perfect ?. So what was he before he became perfect?.

And having been made perfect, he did become to all those obeying him a cause of salvation age-during. Hebrews 5:9

Obeying as in following the same way.

What do you believe the word "perfect" means in that verse? Do you believe he was sinful, or less than good before being made perfect?

What do you think it means ?. You cannot deny that before being made perfect he was something other than perfect. Any idea ?.

Before being made perfect He was BEING PERFECTED. In fact, we are all in a state of BEING PERFECTED.
Jesus was tempted in all ways as we are (more so because of who He is). When the devil tempted Him, it was not a third party. It was the spirit of disobedience trying to overcome His Spirit to give in to the desires of the flesh to sin. For where does sin come from?:

Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

There is a mystery there, that hopefully many will see as the Devil is YOU and ME when we are not led of the Spirit of God.

So from the verse we need understand that Jesus had to overcome lusts of His flesh.

The Virgin Birth circumvented the transmission of the sin nature and allowed the eternal God to become a perfect man.

Why was Jesus born by a virgin?

My guess, as a writer, is it adds a "wow" factor to the story that would impress primitive people.

The word "perfect" is used in the sense of "perfect" tense...meaning completed. It's not necessarily communicated very well in the English. It doesn't necessarily indicate he was less than good, or of a lesser quality. Read the context -- the passage is in reference to him suffering, and being submissive to the Father. He was the source of eternal salvation to "all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest..."

So in answer to your question of "What was he before?" He was sinless, and he was God. But he had not suffered and died for our salvation, and had not completed it, yet.

So before being made complete he was incomplete ?. He was perfect before he died according to the scriptures.
