Progressives are about seeing good in others. Fundamentalists are about seeing "evil" in others.
Progressives are about possibilities. Fundamentalists are about limitations.
Progressives are about unity. Fundamentalists are about disunity and division.
Progressives are New Testament in attitude. Fundamentalists are Old Testament in attitude.
Progressive welcome love and understanding. Fundamentalists welcome anger and wrath.

Yeah, I remember, I found those eggs in the barn after we moved the hay bales. I didn't know how old they were, so I unloaded them quick and cheap. You might want to candle light those babies.

I don't know. I kind of see some negativity in the "Progressive" view of "Fundamentalist".

Seeing the good in others? EPIC FAIL

^ Jealousy? The fundamentalists that do have some light in them can't stand that progressives are better able to emulate Jesus and his message of 'love your neighbor'.

I am part of what's called evangelical covenant. Contrary to what the name "evangelical" entails, it is a progressive, social justice ministry, and the church I go to is come as you are, has quite a few interracial relationships; female deacons (not deconesses!).......and a DJ on the pulpit! The word is taught in both social and historical context (It's still The Word!) and Jesus is taught as a revolutionary as well as a savior! When I first attended, the sermon series was "The Politics of Jesus!" Yes, there was a whole lot of political strife going on during them days!

Yeah, that’s it...LOL

My Southern Baptist church operates a medical and dental clinic for the poor, offers after-school care for at-risk students, gives away coats and toys to the poor at Christmas, operates a food bank, helps seniors and widows, builds schools and hospitals both foriegn and domestic, starts new churches...all done and paid for by our members, to the tune of $2 million per year.

Isn't "social justice ministry" something on par with CIA, as it being a misnomer, in that it appears the CIA sometimes shows a lack of intelligence, and a lack of leadership. Isn't "social justice" based on rob from the rich, such as covet your neighbors goods, to give to whomever is in vogue, and make sure that those who are in vogue do not get prosecuted for their misdeeds. Are you saying the Progressives have given up their goal of "political strife"? Praise God!

The negativity is towards the narrow negative thinking of the fundamentalist.
