According to The People’s New Testament Commentary, the reference is not to any single passage, but to the spirit of the Scripture, notably such passages as Isaiah 55:1 Isaiah 58:11 Psalms 36:8 Psalms 36:9 .
I think two of the most important being being prophetic and still not totally fulfilled yet .. only in part. Zec 13:1

as you can see the subject you asked about is indeed a very deep well overflowing and is deep enough to swim in.. ( pun intended )
I think just one or two of the main points is that the Word of life and his blood cleanses us like water and His word/ wisdom and truth is the key.
and that there will be fountains and wells to drink of pure knowledge and wisdom for his people so that they can have fulfilling lives full of truth and adventure and even real "science" for invention for the rest of eternity.. to have truly abundant/overflowing lives.
like the scientism of today is mostly about trying to tear apart nature, it has to destroy animals and life to find
"cures" that addict us to their products... .. won't more life be created if we worked with his creation instead of trying to shred it/ break it / to thus try and understand it and mostly try and control it in order to control others..?
if Spirit of Our Father or Son.. can give us a pure understanding of creation in or for our inventions, then we can build with creation instead of destroying it in an attempt to understand and even try and control his creation... so working with his laws in creation will enhance creation? HIS creation.
Are you serious, that’s a bit of a knee jerk response isn’t it ? Reading the OT in a literal way would be impossible to know exactly what Jesus was referring to, because there is not a single scripture from the OT that literally states rivers of living water will flow from those who trust him.
Jer_2:13 for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
Zec_14:8 On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter.

There is no scripture in the OT that literally says what Jesus said. Further proof that the scriptures are something far more much more than a literal history book and to receive anything "spiritual" from them can not be read to be an literal historic book. Those temples, houses, rivers and such things in the OT are our very selves and what is within us, waiting to come forth through us by the awareness of them.

and by your same logic .. peter shadow never healed anyone.. and the cloths they sent around never healed anyone either... but they did.. information can be put into inanimate objects. you use a computer. how many people would have said 100 years ago that you were insane .. if we described a computer to them .. an inanimate object that communicates information.... there will be fountains of wisdom and fountains of life.. with real water...in his temple.. dont' get that wrong, that is all easy things for our Father to do..
