Yeah. He fed thousands. He didn't say they have other resources they should go to or that the government should feed them and then bill the family. He just fed 'em.
I agree with you Miss H. I tend to interpret that as a fragrant offering, like an offering of incense. It's better than thinking that God was happy with the torture.
I do like the goal of being an imitator of God, which is what got me to open this thread. You just have to know what you are imitating...which complicates things a bit as Trout Dude points out. I'm sure everyone who killed or harmed in the name of God thought they were imitating God's righteous anger.

Merely a misunderstanding of what kmom meant by "open this thread:" it would not have been misunderstood if she had said, "look into this thread" or, "read this thread." There are a number of threads I don't open due to lack of interest. I almost didn't' open this one because I don't think B F has the foggiest notion what it entails, but I wanted to see the reaction.
