Isaiah 26:2
“Open up the gates to let in a nation that is righteous, one that keeps the truth.”
Notice the truth, the word of God goes hand in hand with righteousness.
That’s why Jesus said to abide in His word. To keep it.
Jesus said He kept God’s word. He also said He was sent to testify it.
He also said to follow Him.
If you claim to be a follower, do you spread His word?
Or do you follow another teacher?
Even though God restored that city 70 years after permitting its destruction by Babylon, the people ( including those taking the lead ) reverted back to their apostate course once more.
So, yes, does one claim to follow Jesus and spread his word as he instructed at Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:18-20.
Jesus forewarned us that MANY would come in his name but prove false at Matthew 7:21-23.
The righteous nation ( a nation that is righteous ) would now be the Christian 'wheat' congregation - 1st Peter 2:9,5.
“Open up the gates to let in a nation that is righteous, one that keeps the truth.”
The passage is saying that to keep the truth is to be righteous. You have taken "the truth" to mean the word of God, and I think you mean the Bible. I take it to mean much more than that.
Jesus, too, talked about righteous nations and what they do to receive the eternal blessing. They take care of their poor, love their criminal offenders and care for their sick. They do not turn a blind eye to suffering and pretend it isn't real or that it doesn't concern them. In this way, they "keep the truth".
I am sure that Isaiah didn't mean to say that a righteous nation is one in which everyone quotes scripture to each other.

Feeding the hungry, letting the prisoners go free, making the blind see is all in quoting the LORD. Has nothing to do with the flesh. It is of the spirit. Take care of the spirit and God will take care of the rest.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and it will be given to you and the rest as well.”

Even the wheat congregation is subject to apostate behavior.
That is the primary way Christians are identified Free.
Wrong. The way Jesus said His followers would be identified is by the agape love of God and each other, period! Absent that agape love, you are fooling yourself.

Yes and showing that agape love is caring for others as Jesus instructed, and as Arizona outlined above. Caring for the sick and poor, welcoming the stranger----all that. That's the Christian love.
I was glad when progressive churches started showing their love through actions instead of just passing out tracts like when I was growing up. Ministries for mental health, tiny houses, refugee care, medical help, shelters and food distribution. That's the agape love.
