When one considers accurately fulfilled, End Time Bible prophecies, there is every reason to believe that the world is on the very doorstep of the Great Tribulation (and/or Rapture).
The most prominent End Time prophecies surround the first-time/only time re-establishment of the nation of Israel in One Day (May 15, 1948). Most eschatologists believe 1948 (or the 1967, when the '6-Day War' brought Jerusalem under Israel's control), ended the "time of the Gentiles" and started the final "generation."
Since these times, scattered Jews (Diaspora) from specifically prophesied locations (Especially modern Ethiopia and Russia) have returned to Israel in great numbers (Aliyah) . The previously 'dead' Hebrew language is now spoken daily by about 10-million Jews and the ancient, once dead Shekel has been restored and a stability leader on world currency markets.
Many other accurately fulfilled End Time prophecies pertaining to Israel, further cement the belief among 'End Time scholars' that we are indeed living in the End Times: (1) Desert gone - Israel abundantly blessed with water and fertile lands, (2) Prosperous nation, (3) Powerful, militarily prominent (undefeatable) nation, (4) Unified nation, no king, (5) Leader among fruit . crop and wine exporting nation, (6) Jerusalem a focus of worldwide attention fought over by many nations, (7) completely surrounded by Arab enemies and many others.
At the same time, the Olivet Discourse, End Time Bible prophecies are converging with a 'birth pain'- type frequency: Earthquakes, wars, rumors of wars, etc.. However, many believe these 'signs' are common to every generation, which they may be for the very specific purpose of giving people of all times a reason to believe theirs might be the 'final generation.'
The specific length of a "generation" could have multiple interpretations, which fully agrees with the truth of Jesus that "no one knows the exact date or hour." However, Jesus also made it clear that we would recognize the "End Time season". The eternal question will never be, "Did you accurately predict the time/date, but will most certainly be, "How did you respond the certain knowledge that life on Earth is temporary and growing shorter every day?" In that context, every individual is living in their own 'End Time' as they approach the uncertain time when their own Earthly life will end.

I do agree with this but I myself do not believe in a 'tribulation period' nor a 'rapture'. What I do believe is something you didn't mention. Go ask any climate scientists what is happening right now. Christ returns to destroy the destroyers of the Earth. That is the 2nd obvious reason in my mind that we are probably close. (add me to the failed prediction list) You stated the first about Israel. Good post!
This prophecy seems to contain pollution, the ozone hole, hair loss by radiation, and UV burning,
and we could speculate that "sackcloth" refers to heavy thick hooded clothing for protection-
"And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty."(Isaiah 3:24)
Perhaps the clock is ticking down for humankind unless we get our act together-
"The time has come for judging the dead.. and for destroying those who destroy the earth" (Revelation 11:18 )

OP, aside from 2030 being close to the two millennium time period after the crucifixion, what reasons do you have for assuming that the UN has anything to do with the return of Christ? You seem pretty quick to condemn the UN. What kind of mindset at the UN could be behind that? I hope it isn't because the UN doesn't always agree with your country. I especially hope it isn't because the UN is an easy target for the sort of hate that is necessary to form a splinter between you and everybody else, such that you can always come up with reasons for treating them differently. The worst problem in the world, and the one we are about to face, is the one where a man can call another man less than a man, and do anything he wants to that man in the name of his assessment. OK smart guy, quit leaving us guessing how Revelation corresponds to us as individuals, can you give a quick synopsis if possible? Even if your right, aren't things done on a micro level also done on a marco (as below,so above)? You may not believe , but many, MANY scientists (guys who study facts, not porn by the way) say WE are causing a mass extinction, right NOW. Mass extinctions usually take a very , very short time, not drawn out .
