If they are not taken up, and we dismiss the Rapture message, is anyone preparing for the things that Revelation describe.

Famine, War, Natural disasters, taking the mark, Financial collapse etc....

I'm not, because I think reading too much into Revelation is pointless. It's apocalyptic literature, laced with imagery and symbolism that can deter us from the true message: Christ will return.

Okay, how about spiritual preparation? Some lamps will be only half full when He returns.
How does one obtain a full lamp?

godspeed,

Intravenous (spiritual) feeding - not by carnal reasoning.

What are you thinking or doing about it.

godspeed,

freedom

There were people that thought it was the season in the early 1900s and the mid 1900s and the 1980s and y2k ... and several other periods of time prior to the 1900s.

There is no reason to believe that all those people throughout history were wrong and this time we've finally gotten our predictions right.

Besides, it's like the question of who would you call today if you knew you were going to die tomnorrow and then calling that person anyway even though you have no reason to believe you'll be dead tomorrow.

"Whether we live or die we belong to the Lord". There is no prepration necessary ... do the good work of him for his glory and in his service.

Freedom, You have mentioned before in another thread that you believe everything said to the apostles and disciples of Jesus' day applies to us.

Matthew 6:25-34

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Though i agree that many have failed in their false predictions, the season of "when you see all these things" as Jesus said, i think has at least an interesting purpose.

So true, live each day to its fulness and for the glory of God.

Yes, i do believe we can live and do the things that the Apostles do and did.

And your use of scripture is perfect for this topic, i believe that Jesus spoke the highest things possible to people that had or were soon to receive a fulness of power (the Holy Spirit). They could multiply matter, come and go as the wind, and heal all manner of sickness.
This is exactly what i think we should pursue. Righteousness and holiness (lamps being full) that we would receive the power necessary to help others and live through the times to come. Just as the example of Christ. He lived righteously and came to the time of His mission and received power.

godspeed,

freedom

I believe the rapture will come, I guess I don't worry about when since I know it will be in God's perfect timing. Only He knows the day and the hour. But it will come, the Bible says "it will come like birth pangs upon a women and they will not escape" Once things start into motion, which I think they are but it may be a hundred years yet. I'm waiting for that trumpet sound and I guess I imagine Jesus coming down on a ray of light. Sometimes when I am driving and I see a big sunbeam coming from behind a cloud, I say, "anytime Jesus, I'm ready!" For those who don't believe I'm sure that sounds foolish but I have the faith of a child...a child with a loving father that I trust.

I have the same faith driftwood, and I know that after the Rapture, I won't be here.

What if you are? Would it shake your faith?
