Addiction? I haven't known ANYONE who wasn't freed from an addiction after becoming saved.

The bible is clear.

Drinking isn't going to send you to hell....getting drunk will.
Drinking is NOT a sin....getting drunk is.
So if I consistently drink a lot, and my tolerance gets to the point where I can hardly get drunk, I won't be going to hell! WOOT. I love this religion stuff, it's like a contract with a million escape clauses.

So because you don't know anyone, then there must not be anyone out there like that. That's your argument?

Or is your argument that if you claim to be saved but have an addiction (or any other sin, for that matter) then you aren't saved?

Another example: Man lives his whole life and has a terrible temper problem. Blows up and uses profanity, screams, breaks stuff etc. Man goes to church, is convicted by the Holy Spirit and makes a decision to follow Christ. Two weeks later, man loses his job, comes home and loses his temper with his wife. Cusses, takes God's name in vain, breaks a lamp and makes a jerk out of himself. Yours and Mr. Washer's opinion, is that man was never truly saved because the Old Man is still there?

Sorry, I believe Lordship Salvation is a false doctrine.

That being said, I believe if one is truly changed by God, they strive for excellence in their walk and there will be fruit in their life. I also know that the Bible teaches us that Christians do sin.

We're the folks in the Corinthian church saved?

Also, is the answer to the question I asked earlier, 'No, that person is not saved and they are going to Hell?'

Only one escape clause, Christ Jesus.

All we need. All there is.

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God.

And no man after that durst ask him any question. (Mark 12:32-34)

How about 'sticking' to what the bible says not your opinions. Also, watch the whole video as Paul Washer doesnt believe what you're thinking

If you want to follow your opinions then you're following another religion.

Jesus said to REPENT.

Anger is not sin. The bible says be angry but do not sin.

If he killed his boss then that would be a sin. That's called murder.

That's a question you have to ask God because only He knows. A person can talk and walk like a Christian but if there is something inside that you're hiding from everyone else, God can still see it. If we see someone who is supposedly a Christian doing something that runs contrary to His Word, then it is expected of us to gently and in a spirit of love to address the issue with that person. If they refuse to do something about it time after time, then we are to leave that person to let God handle it. Don't you think it would be easier to get help sooner than later, knowing that God will work with you differently?

Mr. Washer says that faith is preceded by repentance.

Is that biblical?

(It was right around the 10-11 minute area, I'll find the exact place if you'd like)
He said, "faith alone in Jesus Christ is preceded and followed by repentance" Do you see something wrong with that?

It's obvious Alpha wasn't watching the whole video or hasn't watch all of it.

Little Elmer, you answered your own scripture, if you are seeking the things which God hates then how are you loving Him with all your heart?

Everything I believe is based on the bible and on what Christ taught, not my opinion.

Interesting that you don't think the man in my scenario sinned. I thought losing your temper, certainly throwing things and taking God's name in vain would qualify...but what do I know, you think I follow another religion.

I know why you have taken this stance of self-righteousness with me. Your flesh is telling you that you are without sin. Your flesh is a liar. We all need grace and we all sin.

There's a plank in your eye that you are overlooking to be able to tell me I'm following another religion. Truth be told, I despise religion....just like Jesus did! (Want scripture or is the bible not a part of the religion you follow?)
