Anyway, PDL is NOT an evangelical book. It's a book that should motivate Christians to actually do something besides run their mouths about what they believe. The book is call to put legs and arms on your faith. And there's several Christians who need to read it for that very reason.

If you had read the book, you could answer your own question above.

My comments on MacAurthur stand.......glad to see you removed yours....

Rick Warren and Joel Osteen have helped millions of people with their walk and i like your analogy of putting arms and legs on one's faith...

How many times do believers need to be told their saved....

I think these guys help believers to move on to the walking part of believing, and give great focus and systems of success in being a child of God.

godspeed,

freedom

Also, I didn't mean to hurt you in my comments and will edit them accordingly. You just need to realize that your opinions on others that profess the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior put you on some very dangerous ground.

I believe the Pharisees accused Christ of being of the devil.
You think you are the only one to use this line on me. Please! I was a liberal Christian, I understand the Warrens of the world. I felt deep and passionate for helping people, stopping wars etc.... then I heard the REAL gospel and realized what were my real priorities. Seeking and saving the lost!!!!

God is not some big "lovvy" teddy bear who just wants to hug us and hold us because we are so lovable. Bible says, we are Children of wrath and if people think they are so good and don't understand true repentance then they are going to hell in a handbasket

Very mature. Very worthy of a response.

The book teaches that bad things in our lives are a way of God teaching us something. That sometimes, like Job, we have to go through some painful experiences.

It is so obvious you have no clue on this subject.

You jump from bashing it as an evangelical tool to bashing it as effectively helping Christians who are struggling. It was never intended for the first (although it does briefly cover it) and it does an excellent job on the latter, which your lack of knowledge on tells me this conversation is pointless.

I'd much rather have this argument with someone who had actually read the book for themselves rather than take a bunch of Pharisitical quotes and a self-righteous position.

Surely someone wanting to discuss this like adults will appear at some point.

He may help millions in their lives, but their walk with God.....I don't know about that. Larry King asked, Olstein. "is Jesus the only way"? Olstein's reply...hmmmm...ya....I don't know Larry.....ya...I am not one to judge someone......all I know is when I went to India, I saw how those people loved their god (I thought India had millions of gods) I believe they are doing right.

That is not a man of God!

Well, I've never been a liberal Christian.

Not ever.

So maybe God needs you to act and react in what I perceive are ridiculous ways for a reason.

All I can say is 'have at it', I have little left to say to you. I do hope you are following the Spirit's prompting. From my perspective I see condemnation, guilt, legalism, and callousness.

I don't see compassion, brokenness, or an attitude that reflects Christ.

But that's just my perspective. You might see complacency, laziness, and a false gospel in my words.

I don't doubt your love for the Lord. I just don't understand what you think you are accomplishing.

So my sharing the gospel message of Christ and Him crucified sends people to Hell?

Wow, fundamentalist, I do hope you ask forgiveness for the idle words you are typing.

You have no idea how much I seek God's face in my life.

You have wrongly accused me but my posts in the various threads in this forum hopefully speak for themselves.

EXACLTY! You don't even believe in the great Commission and you are judging me? How are your friends gonna hear Christ if you don't tell them?

I have compassion, brokenness. I realize I am a nasty, vile despicable sinner in the eyes of my God and I am need of a savior. Do you believe the same?

The gospel must be preached RIGHTLY. Rick Warren and Olstein are two men who pretty much act like Jesus is NOT the only way and that makes them heretics in my book. You wanna judge. Go right ahead but my passion lies with saving people from an eternal damnation and it ANGERS me when that is messed with.

So if I am angry it is because jokers like these who are of the seeker sensitive movement who don't preach the entire gospel the way Paul did.

You could stand to learn the true gospel from Paul Washer and John Macarthur. Real gospel done in the right way. Absolutely beautiful.

I apologize, should have expanded on that. I did not mean your way I am talking about Rick Warren's way.
