Well if you don't know about it, then maybe do some investigating it...

Larry King asked, Olstein. "is Jesus the only way"? Olstein's reply...hmmmm...ya....I don't know Larry.....ya...I am not one to judge someone......all I know is when I went to India, I saw how those people loved their god (I thought India had millions of gods) I believe they are doing right.

That is not a man of God!
I thought it to be an honest response... i know one thing, Jesus came for all of us, regardless if we are for Him. I know plenty of professed Christians that say lord, lord, and say Jesus is the only way, and the i wouldn't know them by their fruit.
It's not the letter that speaks of our belief, its the spirit...

Salvation is a free gift to the whole world. You can't do anything to get it, or lose it. But that doesn't mean you will inherit any degree of glory, or the kingdom of God. It just means that Satan has no claim on you....

I made a statement that says that Church nowadays preach from selfhelp books. BigThirsty called it my opinion, and not a fact.

It seems he's just wanting to pick a fight and/or argue about NOTHING important.

He hasn't went to a Pastor's Conference where they promote books that are not the bible.

I have never been to a board meeting for my church, and honestly don't want to 'cause I don't like politics and I'm too busy with other stuff...but once again, I'm gonna ask...WHAT DOES IT MATTER?

I think it was more so that he didn't want to offend a billion people. I find that to be a better approach than, your all going to burn in hell.

I think Christ is greater than that, he knows the hearts of men, and isn't caught up on the labels, by their fruits ye shall know them.

godspeed,

freedom

Gosh I'm amazed with the negitive comments on Purpose Driven Life. I'm a born again believer and was in full time Christian work years ago. I struggled about seven years ago with just life. My mom was dying and I went up to PA to help my dad, I was also struggling with empty nest, menopause, you name it. I just didn't want to come home. I bought a little log cabin in the woods...talk about excape!!! Life just didn't make sense at the time. I decided to go to the bookstore and decided to buy a bunch of books to see if someone had life figured out. The display in the center has Purpose Driven Life on it and at the bottom of the front cover it says, "what on earth am I here for". I thought that I just how I feel. I bought the book, read it and decided to go home and give my marriage another try. That was five years ago.
I think I have bought and given away about 80 copies of that book. It certainly doesn't replace the Bible, but that's not it's intention. He gives a clear gospel presentation and uses about 1,000 scriputres in most translations. I'm sure Joel's book has very few.
For me it was the right message at the right time in my life and God used that to put me back on track with my relationship with Him and my marriage.
I feel blessed that God used that book in my life to turn me back to Him.
Plus Rick Warren gave all the years of salary he was paid by his church back to them since he made so much off the book!

The gospel offends my friend, thinking otherwise you are only fooling yourself.

I am so glad the Apostle Paul did not think like that. I am glad he gave the ENTIRE gospel, the love of God with the wrath of God.
