I think you have a good point here....it is the main reason that I can think of to be concerned about the future of the earth.
If everyone is convinced it is not going to be in existance in a very short time, they will think nothing of trashing it even more than it is already being trashed!
I have three dear granchildren that I hope will have a decent clean earth to live on. I hope it returns to moral decency, as well as physically clean.
No one, and I do mean "no one" has any idea how long the earth will stand. Even some scientists predict the sun to burn out in X number of years! Other scientists have predicted some catastropic occurance that will destroy all.
But until, or unless these things happen, mankind needs to be a good steward of all that is here.
I have often thought that the scripture about the restoration of all is referring to the condition of this earth, and that the environmentalists may be one of the tools that God is using to accomplish this.
As for each of us, we need to be concerned about our end, not the earth's. We need to be prepared for our end on this earth.
