Do most of you believe heaven isn`t really a physical place but more of a spiritual consciousness? When Christ ascended upward, where did he go? I know the bible says right hand of the father but what does that mean to you? If heaven isn`t a physical existence then where are we? Where are our spirts. Are they just floating around in space? What about the new earth? The new Jerusalem? Is that just something in our spiritual consciousness as well? While I`m at it, what is spiritual consciousness?
Will we be aware of our friends in this spiritual state. I can understand if it was physical. But since a lot of people don`t believe that,I was wondering how they comprehend the afterlife. I`m not really sure about it, but I would like to get thoughts of others who may have more insight than me.

Good question. I'd be interested in the answer to that also. I'm more of a physical body with spiritual properties myself. I believe in the Kingdom being right here on earth, a new and glorified earth, as our bodies will be, but still with substance.

Heaven is a physical place as it is described in Revelations.

The physical illusion is strong in human conscousness precisely because ALL of our experience is colored by it. If you would understand Heaven (or Hell) use your dreams (nightmares) as the referents. The Dream state is how we resolve the conflicts that arise during the day between our physical needs and drives and our spiritual ones. If you still have conflicts when you die . . . they will be resolved in the same way (nightmares= Hell, etc.) . . . but it will all be in the spiritual state (no physical body . . . our new reborn spiritual one ).

Seriously and with all honesty..I can think about heaven and picture what Christ went to prepare for us, but try as I might I am not able to comprehend the thoughts or actions of what my Lord has in store for me, since His thoughts are above and beyond mine..

Most times I am almost convinced it will be here in this world he created in beauty and perfection that sin is destroying, yet I still see paradise in many places and wonder if he will be "making all things new". My flesh loves that option, but my spiritual says, even better than that..

I guess I will continue to follow His life and teachings He gave us during His short but full 3 years of giving us the "good news" that He would paid the price of my sins and offer me life everlasting..

I strive daily to do my best to ''live and give" by his example, because I want to be wherever He is after I leave this life...When I fail, which is many times everyday, I know I can turn to Him for forgiveness.
