'This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. Command and teach these things. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. ' 1 Ti 4:9-13 NIV

Sun queen,

What I believe is that there is some distortions in the christian message due to misinterpretations and misapplying what is being spoken about in the bible.

I am mostly convinced that one of those is futurism/end time prophecy which misapplies Jesus statements about the warnings to the Jews about the destruction that was coming to them in 70AD, he was against the religious leaders who were using religion to their advantage and oppressing the needy, poor, the stranger, etc They were to believe him and repent to save themselves from judgment.

Over the last 2000 years there have been built up doctrines that say God created a everlasting torture chamber which to escape going into we are to just believe in Jesus. And that only christians will go to heaven. Whereas Jesus spoke of the kingdom of God/kingdom of heaven.

I think that all humans will be judged on what they do, Jesus said he came to call sinners to repentance - That to me is the message everyone is held accountable for what they have done and for what they have repented of. True repentance and remorse.

The phrase 'kingdom of God (or heaven)' refers to the rule of God in the life of the saint. That kingdom is essential if one is to be accepted by God, here, or in the hereafter. To refuse his rule is to rebel, and to be justly destroyed. There are no exceptions, no favorites.

I believe that to whom much is given -- much is required, and overcoming is on an individual basis. I do agree there is destruction and I do believe in resurrection as well.

1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

If that is the case, the answer would be God leads people to Christ so I have not been instructed that such a task is my responsibility.

Jn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I thank God that such a feat is up to him.
