My co-worker has a 2012 Journey and she has traveled all over the country with it. She hasn't had one problem
she says its the best car she's ever owned. Not sure if this is the norm or the exception.
Carcomplaints.com confirm Dodge Journey having the fewest complaints on SUV. Honda CR-V is really, really bad, actually. Consumer Reports isn't always accurate.
Dodge Journey has been a proven fleet car for rentals that can stand abuse and tear from commercial use, even better than Toyota and Honda in some degree (no joke).
After 8 years the first real problem showed up: ABS module failed. There was a recall on this for the '12 model year but not for the '11. Anyway it was a good run, can't complain for being somewhat basic transportation. In my experience after 8 years the problems will just compound on a Dodge, so for that reason I decided not to fix it and got rid of it.

Newer Dodge Journeys generally last beyond 200,000 miles now. Lots of change in mechanical design were modified and improved throughout the years since 2009 launch in order to satisfy fleets and 24/7 commercial-use drivers, and so Dodge Journey is now one of the more-reliable vehicles out there you can buy as new (often better than Toyota and Honda in some case).

Mechanically I have no doubt this would have lasted that long. The 2.4L + 4 speed was an old & crude but bulletproof drivetrain. It's all the other little things that tend to go out on Dodges at the 8 year mark. If you don't count how this thing chewed up brakes & tires, it would've compared to a Toyota I bought almost new.
