Hello, I am a married father of 3 adult children who will be moving to Cincy in June of 2012. I have been researching different cities around the country and I'm interested in moving to Cincy for several different reasons. Right now I'm trying to learn from people who live their about some of the safest, well-groomed neighborhoods with apartments for rent in the $600 to $700 range. Can anyone shine a little light on the subject for me? Thanks in advance.

Cincy is the only one that's of interest in Ohio, but I have looked into some cities in MO., IN. & IL. Any tips?

are you interested in living in the city itself or in a suburb? you do say "city neighborhoods," but often people use that term pretty loosely.

I would like to live in the suburbs, but not too far (no more than 1/4 mile) away from the city. I don't mind living in the city as long as it's a safe, quite neighborhood. I woul also like to stay close to northern kentucky so I won't be too far from AR. because I have family here. Thanks.

The Kenwood and nearby Madiera areas are close to the city and definitely meet your criteria.

I think we need a bit more information from the OP. Does he want a 1-bedroom apartment? Where will he be working? Stating a preference for the suburbs, but within 1/4 mile of the city, is a bit vague. Does that mean "just outside the city limits", or "within 1/4 mile of downtown"...?

If the OP wants to be close to Northern Kentucky, why not be in NKY itself? For instance, check out Ft. Thomas, Ft. Mitchell, Crescent Springs, Ludlow and Lakeside Park. All of those areas should have a decent amount of apartments in the $600-$700 range.

I wonder if he meant between 1 and 4 miles of the city, since within 1/4 of a mile would be really strange and severely limit where you could live.

The 1/4 mile is in reference to the city limits. In many of the cities that I've lived in, the suburban areas were pretty far out. As far as work goes, I am seeking employment in case management with a counseling service agency or public school. I have been working with at-risk youth 12-18 years old for 15 years. About NKY, I was only using that as a reference point as to the area of Cincy I would like to reside in because it's closes to AR. I will take a look into the areas you posted thanks for your assitance.
