Nothing in writing. My word against his and the shop. And I call it incompetence and stupidity which runs rampant in central Indiana. Who do you think they will believe? He's a local guy and I am an outsider. My older brother has already found the level of corruption in Indy to be appalling. They will take the word of a common thief and pathological liar over someone that tells the truth. That has been my experience with the people in Indy and the areas around it as well. Lost cause. Just writing it off and will be leaving as soon as I am able. I just hope I can salvage the plans I had for NKY. May be hopeless at this point.

This is a case for a BBB complaint. These guys live and die by BBB ratings since one of these places is the same as another. Call your local BBB and get a complaint form. Most tire and oil change places have subscribed to the BBB arbitration system. Your word vs. theirs will carry the day at the BBB. My associate is a BBB arbitrator. I know these things.

Thanks. Had not thought of that. Will do that. I appreciate the input and concern.

On the bright side, most of the experiences I am having in NKY have been far better than what has taken place in Indy. Even KC was not as messed up as Indy.

File that BBB complaint. Hopefully you can get something out of it.

Here's hoping the engine swap goes well.

I hope you have that engine swap in writing, as to the various cost breakdowns. Never take on a job that large without a cost breakdown.

If you purchased the engine there has to be allowances for getting it in working order. Hopefully you made a good buy and it will fire right up.

Well, I purchased the new engine at a fair price and yes, it was in writing. Free shipping. There are additional parts that will be needed and I have already been given the price for the new timing belt plus labor. Can't pin point the cost of the coil modules yet since we may be able to salvage two from the current engine.

I will be keeping the water pump from the old engine for future use and any other parts that might be usable.

Some other obvious parts are the alternator. The fuel distribution system including the carburetor are expensive but may not be worth salvaging. The carburetor will undoubtedbly require rebuilding.
