Fort Scott is actually in an area called New Baltimore. Venice/Ross is about 5 miles to the north. When they created it they planned on a wide price range of housing and some minor retail. The landfill just south of the development is a construction waste dump. A dump is a dump but at least it will not smell. Mt Rumpke is about 3 miles to the northeast from there. I don't think that would be any sort of an issue especially since you would be upwind of it. . The Fernald site is around 2 miles away. They spent a couple a couple of billion on clean up. There's actually a nice nature preserve there now. If there is an issue I would think it would be a ground water issue but I'm guessing the development uses municipal water not well water. The commute to Oxford would not be too bad from there. You could take 128 into Ross and the get on 27 north. There are some other back ways to get there. I rode my bike from that area taking the country roads and it was about 25 miles. A very nice ride actually though a bit hilly

And some nearby houses (all are far under-budget, not much in Fairfield at $250k or over):
4774 Circle Dr, Fairfield, OH 45014 is For Sale - Zillow
4771 Circle Dr, Fairfield, OH 45014 is For Sale - Zillow

OHKID ......... this area is a very good recommendation for the OP. The driving distance is almost identical to both O-town and Norwood. And the area is very walkable....within walking distance of grocery, banks, restaurants, etc.

Thanks Señor Slick!

And OP, happy to help! Please, if you don't mind, keep is in the loop at least somewhat and let us know what you decide! That way we can get a better idea of whether our recommendations were good or not, and what we can do to improve.

Also - gregbe - good info. I didn't resize the dump due south was construction materials only.

Colerain Twp......that's all I got.
better to drive north to Oxford every day than to drive to Norwood through rush hour traffic. from some other far-flung gridlocked suburb.
